I discover an old movie on my campus’ movie tracker
Movie Title: Twister
Released Year: June 1996
Cast: Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, Jami Gertz, Cary Elwes
Twister is an American disaster film starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton as “storm chasers” researching tornadoes. In the movie, a team of storm chasers try to perfect a data-gathering instrument, designed to be released into the funnel of a tornado, while competing with another better-funded team with a similar device during a tornado outbreak across Oklahoma.
This is one of “first Hollywood movies” i watched when i was in elementary school. Since then I still can remember every single scene of this movie..:D
Favorite scene #1:
When the team are sitting around in aunt Meg’s dining room, and Jo is taking bath upstairs, telling Melissa about the scale of a tornado (in Fujita scale).
Bill: four is good, four will relocate your house very efficiently.
Melissa: is there an F-5??
everyone: (silence..stop eating, look at each other)
Melissa: what would that be like?
Jason: the finger of God.
everyone: (remain silence)
Melissa: none of you ever seen an F-5?
everyone: (remain silence)
Bill: just one of us (looking upstairs)
Favorite scene #2:
When Bill decided to pull over on their 2nd attempt to fly dorothy, but Jo still insist to fly it.
Jo: You don’t understand! You’ll never know.
Bill: When is it going to be enough? How close do you have to get??Talk to me!!Jo, things go wrong!!
You can’t explain it. You can’t predict it!!
Killing yourself won’t bring your dad back!!
I’m sorry he died, but it was a long time ago. You’ve got to move on. Stop living in the past and look what you’ve got in front of you.
Jo: what are you saying?
Bill: Me, Jo.
